Born in Bensonhurst Brooklyn, Len began to draw as soon as he could hold a pencil. Encouraged by his grade school teacher to study art and painting, he later enrolled in the New York High School of Art and Design.

After graduation, Len worked as a commercial artist and retoucher. His studies were interrupted by service in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Mr. Favara then returned to continue his studies in graphic arts and advertising design full time, taking advantage of the GI Bill. He graduated with a BA in Communication and Graphic Design from New York's School of Visual Arts.

In 1972, he became an apprentice in the art department at Trahey/Wolf advertising in New York City. Len soon began to build a reputation as one of advertising's most talented and creative art directors. Mr. Favara then joined Peter Rogers Associates as Vice President, Art Director, and Co-Creative Director. Collaborating with Peter Rogers, he made advertising history. Len's account list read like a "who's who" in the world of blue chip accounts: Blackglama Furs, Vidal Sassoon, Judith Leiber, Bulgari, Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Harpers Bazaar and Geoffrey Beene to name a few.

In 1987, Len opened his own advertising agency, Favara & Raffle, and continued to garner every prestigious honor awarded by the advertising world. Len's love of art never left him. After a 1\ten year run, he decided to retire, move his family to Florida and pursue his real passion - painting!

While visiting the Louvre, Len was inspired by a painting in the impressionist wing, Gustave Caillevotto's "The Floor Scraper". Len knew he had to paint as he did, "...taking everyday people in everyday situations and glorifying them, that's what I hope I have done in my paintings, My Mom in the kitchen, My Dad the Coca-Cola Man, and The Soho Gourmet"
